An Exploration of Presence and Everyday Ritual
Sweet Water is a photography and poetry project rooted in slowing down and noticing the subtle and the quiet rhythms of everyday life.
The work began during the early months of the Covid-19 pandemic, a time when days blurred together and the world slowed dramatically. In that stillness, I began noticing the poetry within ordinary moments — moments that once felt ordinary began to take on new meaning.
Story Origin- Where the Project Began
I found myself drawn to small, often overlooked experiences- the warmth of water on cold hands while doing dishes, the sound of waves, the quiet awareness of simply being present.
These moments became the foundation for Sweet Water- a project where
water serves as a metaphor for reflection, movement, and returning to oneself. An expression of attention, stillness and the act of noticing.
A Book of Photography, Poetry, and Reflection
The project evolved into a book combining photography, poetry, and interactive writing prompts.
Water became a central metaphor—representing reflection, movement, and a return to self.
