Stranger — A Documentary Portrait Project
A personal documentary project by Black Box Images by Linda Macchia, exploring connection and everyday human stories through portraiture.
Documentary Portraiture Through Street Photography
Stranger is a personal documentary portrait project exploring the shared humanity that exist between people who may otherwise pass each other unnoticed.
Rooted in street photography, the work focuses on creating portraits of strangers within their every day lives and environment.
While recovering from an injury and barely able to use my arm, I spent four months photographing individuals during their daily routines, immersing myself in their worlds with brief but meaningful connections. What began as a physical limitation became a powerful exploration of connection and trust.
The project is a reflection on trust, curiosity and the quiet connections that can arise. It reveals how photography can act as a bridge- fostering empathy, understanding and a deep awareness of our shared human experience.
